Fitness Assessments at Island FitnessFITNESS ASSESSMENTS
At Island Fitness, we are committed to helping you achieve optimal results and maintain consistent progress toward your goals! To achieve this, and to ensure the safety of all our members, we encourage all new members to complete an Initial Assessment upon joining the club, and to have regular Assessments and Reviews annually or quarterly.

All Assessments include:

  • A cardiovascular assessment to evaluate how efficiently your heart and lungs function during exercise.
  • A body composition analysis.
  • Flexibility and strength limitation testing.
  • Measurement of blood pressure and resting heart rate.
  • Total body measurements.
  • Muscular endurance assessments.
  • Determination of equipment knowledge based on range of movement, speed and control of exercise, breathing patterns, body positioning and isolation.
  • Equipment technique demonstration.
  • Overall fitness prescription.
  • One-time half hour consultation with Nutrition Coach.

Initial Assessment (IA) Recommended for new and current members who have never had an assessment before. This initial consultation helps to ensure that you are safe to exercise, and provides us with baseline fitness data to which we can compare your future progress. The IA also allows your Coach or Trainer to more effectively design a customized program to fit your needs.
Island Fitness
Quarterly Assessments (QA) Recommended for all members, especially those with specific performance or weight loss goals. Regular assessments will allow you and your Coach or Trainer to more closely monitor your progress, measure improvement, and accurately hone your training program to achieve optimal results.
Island Fitness
Annual Review (AR) Recommended for all members. A once-a-year check up to ensure that your current fitness plan is still working. Your Fitness Consultant will recommend any modifications or changes to your exercise or nutrition routine.
