A metabolic assessment analyzes the volume of oxygen consumed (VO2) and the volume of carbon dioxide produced (VCO2) in a controlled setting to determine the mixture of fuel types your body is using, or your metabolic profile.
By understanding your metabolic profile, you will be able to:
...know exactly how many calories your body needs each day
...train your body to be more efficient in burning fat and calories
...
increase performance and/or lose weight by training within your unique heart rate zones;
...maximize your efficiency, avoiding over-training or under-training

What is metabolism, and why does it matter?
Have you ever wondered why one person can gain weight just from looking at food, while another can seem to eat endlessly and yet never gain an ounce? That's because of how your body processes nutrition to make and burn energy—your metabolism. Every person's metabolism is as unique as their fingerprints or DNA. By measuring your metabolic rate at rest and while exercising, your Fitness Consultant will be able to tell you:
1. how many calories your body needs;
2. how long & hard you should be exercising;
3. and teach you how to combine nutrition, exercise, and the time you have available to reach your goals.
Using the detailed reports generated by the testing system, your Fitness Consultant will be able to give you clear and easy-to-follow overall exercise and nutrition plans. Follow-up visits and re-tests will check that you are progressing toward your goals, then adjusts your training prescriptions accordingly.
