If you are familiar with exercise basics but want to lend some structure and direction to your workouts, this class is for you! Learn proper form and progressions for more advanced resistance training exercises, as you challenge yourself to become even more fit. This class is designed to help you make the most effective use of your time by combining classical strength and functional core-based exercises into a well-rounded routine.
The all-female, small group atmosphere provides camaraderie among individuals with similar fitness goals, yet allows for personal attention to your particular needs. Prior experience with strength training is recommended, as is a solid base-level of fitness, and general familiarity with free weights. Because of the progressive nature of the program, regular attendance is recommended. Advance registration and payment is required. Pilates
is a system of rehabilitation and exercise that focuses on the deep
stabilizing muscles of the torso, hips, and shoulder girdle. Pilates
conditions your entire body and promotes balance, strength, endurance,
flexibility and improved posture. Designed to provide a base knowledge of the Allegro Reformer, this introduction will take you through a progression of Pilates exercises to lengthen and strengthen with power, precision and flow. Learn core stability and strength while getting a total body toning and flexibility workout. This Body/Mind program will help improve your overall fitness while making you more balanced and centered. If you are currently under a physiotherapist's care, please obtain prior approval from the therapist and the Pilates trainer before registering. You will have challenged resistance at a faster pace, working abs, arms and legs while stabilizing pelvic and shoulder girdles. Learn core stability and strength while getting a total body toning and flexibility workout. This Body/Mind program will help improve your overall fitness while making you more balanced and centered. If you are currently under a physiotherapist's care, please obtain prior approval from the therapist and the Pilates trainer before registering. Prior Pilates mat experience and instructor approval are required. As a general rule, only healthy bodies may take advantage of Pilates Reformer classes. Maximum class capacity is 5.
