Are you looking for a higher level of training than you find in most exercise classes? Do you want more individualized attention without sacrificing the camaraderie you find in group workouts? Then try one of our Small Group Training series. From Pilates Reformer to TRX, we have the classes that will help you get into your best shape ever!

Not everyone can afford the services of a personal trainer. We’ve listened to our clients and developed this program to allow you to work with a Personal Trainer at a fraction of the cost by sharing the rate with others.

The Island Fitness Small Group Training experience is a hybrid of traditional group fitness classes and personal training. Small Group Training is more than just an economic alternative to one-on-one training. Workouts are built with differing levels of fitness in mind. The participants need not be at exactly the same fitness level to benefit from small group training. You will have accountability, motivation, support, experience, and expert guidance to reach your fitness goals in this small group environment. Working out with like-minded partners pushes you to work harder. It can also make participants realize that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses, and they are not as behind as they might have thought.

With Small Group Training, you get:

  • In-depth, guided workouts in a variety of disciplines and specialties, including yoga, Pilates, dance, TRX, gladiator training, and more;

  • The attention and knowledge of personal trainers at a fraction of the cost;

Small Group Policies

Registrations

Small Group Training Series registrations must be paid in full before the start of the first class. A place is then held for that participant for the full term of that Small Group Training Series.

Credit, Cancellation, Transfer, Make-Ups

If a participant must cancel a prepaid registration, he/she must do so prior to the start of the second class. A credit of the registration fee minus the drop-in fee will then be issued only if the Small Group Training Series allows drop-ins and there is a person on the waiting list to take that person's place. Transfers of Small Group Training Series registrations between participants are not allowed. Make-ups of missed classes are not allowed. Registration fees, deposits, and pre-paid tuitions are non-refundable and non-transferable. If a travelers' advisory or weather emergency of any kind is in effect one hour prior to the beginning of class, that class is automatically cancelled. In that case, make-up classes will be scheduled, or credit will be given in place of the canceled class. There will be no refunds.

Minimum Enrollment

A Small Group classes must meet the set minimum enrollment one week prior to the start date, or the class will be canceled.

A suspension trainer series specifically for beginners. This 6-week series will introduce you to basic level exercises and their progressions using the TRX suspension trainer.

Using your bodyweight to complete fundamental exercise progressions in a series you’ll develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability. We’ll work the famous black and yellow straps and basic exercises of TRX training in a small group setting with personal attention.

6-week series: Members: $150.00 | Non-Members: $168

*Some fitness experience is recommended, must be able to freely move up and down from the floor and raise your arms over head

Core & Strength: A TRX based workout incorporating Pilates principles and various stretching techniques. Designed to strengthen your core and improve your flexibility.

Are you looking for a class to get you energized before starting your day? Don’t worry, Island Fitness has you covered! Join Rachel Main Professional Trainer for some High Intensity Interval Training to get your heart pumping and sweat pouring! This class will encourage you to push past your limits and reach new fitness levels; through different mediums of equipment and exercise techniques Rachel will take you through an intense 30 minute full body workout that will get you ready for your day! We look forward to seeing you at the next class.

We are excited to begin offering circuit training classes, taught by our Ortho-Kinetics Professional Trainers, that are specifically designed to give individuals with Parkinson’s a safe, supportive and fun workout experience. Each class will focus on the vulnerable neurological points facing individuals with Parkinson’s. The circuits will incorporate strength training with reaction time, balance and overall fitness, giving each participant the satisfaction and significant proven benefits of an exercise program. We will use a variety of equipment including speed bags, heavy bags and focus mitts along with other circuit weight training and balance equipment. No boxing or previous workout experience needed.

Beginning March 21st:

  • Wednesday’s from 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm
  • Downstairs in Main Studio for individuals looking for a slower paced class and with more pronounced Parkinson’s symptoms.
  • Saturdays from 11:00 pm to 12:00 pm
  • Upstairs studio for individuals that can safely and easily climb stairs and looking for a more athletic and intense exercise experience.

*All classes will offer progressions and modifications for each participant based on their abilities, comfort and safety.

New to Kettlebells and or fitness start with a full body workout in the first 30 minutes classes. We’ll use muscles “head to toe”, create stability in your trunk and core using cornerstone exercises of Kettlebells before transitioning to second half of class. Go for the hour! We’ll pick up the pace as we transition into the second half hour of class. Increase cardio and boost strength benefits with high intensity low impact exercises.
