Health and fitness have always been interests of mine, being introduced to sports at a young at and growing up with two parents that were involved in the healthcare industry had a major impact on my decision to become a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Athletic competition drove my desire to obtain a sports scholarship to a University and become a personal trainer to help others who have physical or sport specific goals.

After receiving my athletic scholarship, I decided to declare my major in Kinesiology and study the movement and function of the human body. Courses such as anatomy, physiology, and exercise science were just some of the classes that I studied during my four-year tenor at Notre Dame de Namur University. I worked hard and obtained my Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology and became a captain on the lacrosse team my junior and senior years.

Upon graduation in May of 2014 I decided to obtain my personal training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. With a Bachelor’s degree and personal training certification in hand I knew that it was time to get a job and start helping others reach their personal fitness goals. I began working and training at Island Fitness in early 2016. I am a certified Ortho-Kinetics trainer, Body Pump instructor, and trained in Balanced Body Pilates. I teach various group fitness classes such as Body Pump, mat Pilates, reformer Pilates, and (POP) which stands for Punching Out Parkinson’s. I work with different age groups and ability levels. Helping others achieve their fitness goals is the reason why I am a personal trainer and group fitness instructor.
