Following her interest in the human body, Carol earned an Associates of Sciences Degree from Olympic College completing the Health and Sciences Prep program. After raising three children, she returned to school to study massage at Port Townsend School of Massage and began practicing on Bainbridge. Her search for balance in her work life brought her to Island Fitness where she has served in many roles (cleaning crew, front desk, fitness consulting, massage & training). Carol considers Island Fitness “free school” because of the access to her talented family of coworkers and the co-creative atmosphere fostered by the owners Michael and Alexa Rosenthal. “I love that Island Fitness is open to the new trends in fitness, and willing to support us in improving our skills.”
Carol holds a Personal Training Certification through National Academy of Sports Medicine and has completed courses in Senior Fitness, Kettlebell Training, and Pilates Reformer. Carol loves working with seniors, the deconditioned, and those with special concerns. She specializes in those who feel “broken,” and helps them to improve their health one baby step at a time. “It is amazing to see people transform themselves – inside and out, with the work they do here! I love encouraging my clients, providing them with alternate ways to approach exercise, helping them start right where they are, and watching them do things they never thought they could do!”
Carol is a Licensed Massage Practitioner (MA00015549) at Island Fitness. Carol enjoys her life here in the Pacific Northwest, always striving to find that balance between activity and rest. Occasionally she serves a doula helping friends navigate childbirth. She enjoys her close-knit family and travels whenever she can.
