A Moment for Reflection

Dear Friends,

We find ourselves in a place that was almost unimaginable two weeks ago. With the Governor’s decree on Monday to “stay home and stay safe,” we find ourselves even more limited and removed from the familiarity of our daily lives. Fortunately, the Governor recognizes that spending time outside is an essential activity. You can still walk in your neighborhood, forest bathe in the woods, or do other types of activities in nature such as biking or walking on the beach.

We invite you all to pause and reflect, Thursday evening at 8:00. Turn off all of your electronics, light a candle, and place it on a windowsill and sit in silence for 10 minutes. Focus on your breath, love, light, and universal healing for us all. This energetic flow will strengthen with every person that joins – share this invitation and feel how powerful we can be together.

We continue to stand by our staff and prepare to welcome all of them and all of you back when it is safe to reopen. In the meantime, have you had a chance to experience our online classes? We will be bringing more and more of these to you in the coming days and weeks if necessary, so you can see and work with your favorite instructors and members, all virtually, through Zoom.

Our trainers are also going virtual with great success and satisfaction from their clients. Reach out to your trainer directly, or contact our Fitness Director, Gavin DeWitt. If you’ve never worked with a trainer in the club, try it in the privacy of your own home, virtually.

We are so grateful for your messages of support and caring and for those of you able to sustain your memberships.

This crisis is an opportunity for us to reset together. Some of us will be faced with challenges that can feel insurmountable but please know you are not alone – that is what is helping us get through.

To our collective good health.

Michael, Alexa and the entire Island Fitness staff.
